Chilling over the weekend

Wow, I should really just set up a time every day to type up events and then post every so often. I'm never going to remember anything otherwise!

Let's see...after my last post, I met a few folks over in I Tower. All new students except the SR: one from Singapore, one from China, and two from the Netherlands. We hung out, chatted about a lot of stuff (sports, music, economics, politics, etc.), and played cards. It turned into a drinking version of Blackjack, but since I'm up front about not being able to drink, I just had water. Very amusing night. Also, I kinda sorta tried kangaroo. Somebody got some at Coles and I was offered a taste. Not bad -- quite tender, really.

Yesterday, I took the bus over to Toowong Village and picked up the new Harry Potter along with a lamp, torch, and a microwaveable bowl. Yep, K-Mart carries Pyrex, woo! They also carry a lot of Cadbury's and Kinder Eggs. parrotofdoom, you would be in heaven. ;) Came back, called ingole (yay!), read a bit, and then went to hang out with I Tower folks a bit more. Lots of laughs with that group.

Today, I finished HP6, went over to uni to look around a bit more and then just hung around IH. Had a nice talk with Kavindra, a transfer student from Malaysia who lives on my floor. Hung out and ate with some random folks in my tower, then took a walk with my SR and one of her friends. Good chat about HP in there and now Wendy's borrowing my copy of HP6. Hehe, I'm waiting to hear her reaction.

Tomorrow's plan: Orientation stuff. I think we start at 8:45 or 9am, so I'm heading to bed rather soon.
